Meet The Chiropractic Team

  • Dr. Robin W. Gooden
    Clinic Director - Chiropractor - Bangor and Ellsworth Clinic

    Dr. Robin W. Gooden is a native of western Pennsylvania and an avid outdoor enthusiast.  Dr. Gooden fell in love with chiropractic care at the early age of nineteen. Having been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder and Dyslexia, he began a lifetime journey to discover ways to treat and overcome these diagnoses naturally without the use of drugs.  Dr. Gooden was introduced to the chiropractic adjustment and gain an invaluable tool that helps his body naturally balance nerve and sensory interference.

    Dr. Gooden went on to receive a Doctorate of Chiropractic from the prestigious Life University in Marietta, Georgia, and has completed over 1,000 hours of post-graduate work in the fields of nutrition, functional rehab, prenatal and pediatric care. He certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and Maine Chiropractic Association. He has also received a post-graduate certification in the Webster Technique. Due to his extensive knowledge of prenatal chiropractic, many OB/GYN's and midwives in the area regularly refer their patients to him.

    In 2002, Dr. Gooden co-founded Back in Balance Wellness Center in Bangor, committed to the idea that all individuals are designed to live a vibrant and healthy life.   He believes his role as a doctor is to inspire and educate his community to make better health choices that will lead to a better outcome. Dr. Gooden is a frequent speaker to local groups and businesses about chiropractic healthcare and the wellness lifestyle. 

    Dr. Gooden is married to Melissa, who is an integral part of the practice. Together they reside in the community of Veazie, along with their sons Chase and Colson.  He enjoys mountain biking, fishing, hunting, and renovation projects.
     

  • Dr. Daniel Robinson
    Chiropractor - Bangor Clinic

    Dr. Daniel S. Robinson grew up in Bridgton, Maine, where he learned to love competitive sports. As an athlete, he was drawn to chiropractic through his rehabilitation for various sports injuries and later for its ability to keep an athlete a peak performance.

    Dr. Robinson earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic and a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology and Human Biology from the University of Maine. He is a longstanding member of the Maine Chiropractic Association. An expert in multiple soft tissue techniques, extremity adjustments, and rehabilitation; Dr. Robinson has greatly improved function in clients with sport-related injuries and chronic spinal and extremity conditions.

    Dr. Robinson is an active person and enjoys spending his recreational time golfing, skiing, hiking. He and his dog Tucker reside in Hermon.


  • Dr. Shaun M. Briggs
    Chiropractor - Bangor Clinic

    Dr. Shaun M. Briggs joined Back in Balance Wellness Center in January 2017 and loves the integrative, whole-body approach to patient care and well-being. Before 2017, he worked at Shoreline Family Chiropractic in Connecticut for over five years.

    Dr. Briggs graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Maine and cum laude from Logan Chiropractic College as a Doctor of Chiropractic. He is certified in Webster Technique and an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

    Since 2011, he has developed specialties in extremity adjustment, athletic injuries, and rehabilitation. He has successfully treated clients with chronic conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder impingement, thoracic outlet syndrome, plantar fasciitis, chronically sprained ankles, and hip dysfunction. Dr. Brigg's has taken a particular interest in prenatal and pediatric care.

    Native to Hampden, Dr. Briggs, his wife Becky, their son Landon and daughter Hadley are enjoying living closer to family and friends.
     

  • Dr. David F. Manzella
    Chiropractor - Bangor and Ellsworth Clinic

    Dr. David Manzella grew up in Buffalo, New York. He graduated from Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY, and then began a career in the fine dining industry.  Dr. Manzella sought chiropractic care to address his low back problems, and the amazing results prompted him to pursue a life in chiropractic care.

    Dr. Manzella received a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN.  His area of specialty is Diversified Adjusting Technique and Extremities. His goal is always, first and foremost, to provide structural correction and restore neurological imbalances - which helps his patients to reach their health goals and enjoy their best lives.  Dr. Manzella believes that better decisions create better results.
     
    Outside of work, Dr. Manzella enjoys spending time with his wife and kids.  He enjoys football, golf and maintains a saltwater reef tank.
