Therapeutic Swedish / Deep Tissue Massage

Swedish massage promotes healing and wellness by preventing and alleviating pain, muscular tension, spasm and stress.  A range of pressure can be used to suite your preference and goals, from light airy movements to deep soothing strokes.  A combination of gentle relaxation and deep breathing techniques allow you to unwind.  Then if desired, deeper pressure and neuromuscular techniques can be used to resolve active trigger points to break cycles of spasm and pain.  Active, passive and resistance stretching may also be incorporated to increase or maintain joint range of motion.

Chair Massage

This brief bodywork session is done in a special chair in which the client sits fully-clothed facing toward the cushions, exposing the scalp, shoulders, neck, arms, back, and hips to receive the nurturing attention needed. Passive stretching and vigorous kneading strokes will be used to release tension held in these areas of the body.  This is a great way to feel refreshed after exercise or a long workday.

Pregnancy Massage
The physical, physiological and emotional changes that occur during pregnancy cause added stress on the mother-to-be.  Receiving massage at this special time can help reduce musculoskeletal pain associated with weight gain and postural shifts (particularly in the neck, upper and lower back, hip and gluteal regions). Regular massage treatments can reduce swelling and leg cramping by improving lymph flow, reduce sciatic pain through gentle stretching and enhance sleep.  These treatments are similar to Swedish massage but involve unique positioning to allow the client to relax on their side or supported by special cushioning. (Prior to your massage, please consult with your physician to confirm it is appropriate to receive massage at this point in your pregnancy and/or consult with us when booking your session.)
